Grow your mindset: Be true to yourself

Today’s topic is inspired by a conversation that I had yesterday with a good friend. It was one of these long deep talks where you go through a bunch of stuff and two hours pass by without you even realizing it. However, one thing really stood out to me.

I was explaining to him how the mindset of becoming better every day is so important and a great goal to aim for.

He told me: “Bro, do you know how many people I meet, that do the least possible and feel like they do everything?”

I couldn’t imagine that. But it makes sense. People are lazy and they need to feel alright. Otherwise, everyone would be depressed. So what do they do?

They lie.

They lie to themselves and then they lie to you.

Honesty is a great virtue that is missing in this world. If you want to improve yourself you need to be honest. And same applies if you want others to trust, like or respect you.

Becoming 1% better every day is a great concept but not being honest with yourself, kills the entire purpose. You simply can’t determine how or if you are getting better.

It’s true though, that social media push you in the opposite direction.
They want you to lie about how popular you are, how much money you make and how many likes you get.

Lies are evil. You are basically alternating someone else’s reality. It’s like creating a parallel universe and putting others into it. How superior do you consider yourself to others?

I’m a firm believer that you should always tell the truth.
It’s the alpha and the omega of every relationship. Being honest can protect you from many awkward scenarios.

“Alright Bubits but what if I’ve said a huge lie that others should never know?” There’s no such thing.

Go and fix that. Tell the truth and face the consequences. You’ve no right to lie to others and you have the responsibility to be true to yourself.

With all that said, let’s try to become 1% better this week by not lying to others. It’s a good goal for all of us to set.

I thought of posting all the news on a Twitter thread rather than writing them here, cause I don’t know how many of you were interested in the NFT news.
