The Myth of the 8-Hour Workday: How Working Smarter, Not Longer, Can Make You More Productive
27/03/23
Happy Sunday everyone!
Earlier this week, I applied for a writer's job at a company and guess what? They emailed me back right away and we're set to have a call tomorrow! The email was nicely written and all, but I have a feeling that what really sealed the deal was my honesty.
I’m a firm believer that honesty is a lifesaver and it can help you avoid many difficult scenarios. Being honest helps you build your credibility which leads to more respect and healthy trustworthy relationships.
It’s not always easy, to tell the truth, but trust me, it will help you A LOT if you just be honest with everyone.
Hope you enjoy your read!

Grow your mindset: Supercharge Your Productivity
Have you ever found yourself feeling burnt out or unproductive after a full eight-hour workday? The concept of the "8-hour productivity myth" has been ingrained in our work culture for decades, but recent studies have shown that this traditional model may not be the most effective way to work. In fact, studies suggest that shorter workdays and increased flexibility can actually lead to higher levels of productivity and job satisfaction.
This week was probably one of my most productive ones yet and I had a lot of free time to hang around with friends too and enjoy life to the fullest.
This strategy helped me stay locked in and max out my productivity:
Design your day from yesterday
I actually do that for a long time now, and it has really helped me to get my life in order. Basically, from the day before write down on a piece of paper or a whiteboard all the tasks you need to do the next day. This way, you prepare yourself mentally for what’s about to happen tomorrow. A well-organized calendar also helps you to plan your day properly and manage your time efficiently.
Do the boring stuff first
About a month ago, I read about this technique, and since implementing it, I've noticed a significant improvement in my productivity.
Boring tasks give you low dopamine hits, so by doing them first, you can work on low dopamine levels and stay focused throughout the day.
Every morning I wake up I start with boring tasks like replying to emails, GMs, going to the grocery, or making phone calls. After all that, I take a small break to let off some steam. Now, all the tasks that remain are things that I enjoy doing, so instead of procrastinating, I just spend my time happily working on them.
Take regular breaks to recharge
This step is crucial. The 8-hour productivity myth is busted. Taking regular breaks is essential.
What I do is take a 5-10 minute break between my 50-minute work sessions, where I get hydrated, grab a snack, do some push-ups and check on my phone.
This way you avoid burnouts, refresh your mind, and prepare for the next session full of energy.
Reward
Once I finish with my list of tasks, I make sure I treat myself to some entertainment. Either hang out with friends or spend the night in with some good food, and a movie. This is great practice for your brain. After a full day, all you need is to give yourself to relax and prepare for the next one.
The pattern we use to train dogs works with humans too ;)

Arbitrum Airdrop is live
The Arbitrum airdrop token claim is now live. This is a great opportunity to get your hands on some free tokens, so don't miss out!
The Arbitrum network is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, and their team is distributing their native token ($ARB) to early adopters and community members.
Go on their website and check if you are eligible to claim it (I wasn’t). The airdrop is only available for a limited time, so make sure to act fast.
Good luck and happy claiming!
Do Kwon got arrested
The famous scammer behind Terra Luna was arrested this week in Montenegro.
The arrest comes almost a year after the collapse of the Terra exosystem last May. This arrest is seen as a major victory for law enforcement in the fight against cybercrime.
Many lost their money cause of him but at least it’s good to see some sort of justice.
