Level up your problem-solving game

How to Hack Twitter’s new algorithm

Happy Sunday everyone!

Thankfully, my exam period went well this week, and I now have a little more free time to enjoy. I’m finally bringing something together that I’m building with a friend (hey Mitchell) and I can't wait to show you but that’s for another time.

I wanted to share with you a method that helped me achieve 4-hour study sections. This is a method that I've developed and it really boosted my productivity it's called the 50-5-5 rule.

Basically how it works is that in the first 50 minutes, you put your phone on airplane mode, minimize any distractions, and hyperfocus on your task (studying/working). As soon as the 50 minutes are up, you're given a 5-minute reward timer. During these 5 minutes you can do whatever you want. (grab a snack, scroll on IG, etc). Then you reset the timer and do a 5-minute workout. This not only helps with your blood flow but also stay in shape. Repeat this process till you feel that you can’t focus anymore, I recommend 4-6 times.

I hope you have a dope Sunday. Let’s dive into the real alpha now!

Grow your mindset: Level up your problem-solving game

Life doesn’t always go our way. Sometimes it feels like walls are closing in on you. You feel like problems are beating you like the waves hit the rocks. Feeling like that is normal, everyone has experienced it or is experiencing it right now. But there is a way to solve the majority of your problems if not all of them.

Note: Health problems aren't really in our hands, so please exclude them from the equation.

Identify your problems

As with everything else, you need to have a clear view of what your situation is. You can't fight your enemy if you don't know what your enemy looks like. You need to know exactly what you are up against before trying to find solutions.

With that said, try to identify all the problems you are currently facing and write them down on a piece of paper. Then write down a second list with potential issues that could be added at any time. For example, if you are renting your apartment as an Airbnb, you might find a dead bulb or a broken dishwasher. That's an issue you currently don't have but it could happen from one day to another.

Prioritise them

Now you have the list, sort it out. Put the most important ones first. Put on top the issues that you want to resolve first and that would really impact your life.

Make a plan

Now it's time to make a strategy. Lock yourself in a room and squeeze your brain to come up with solutions for your top 3 problems. Write down these solutions and break them down into simpler steps that if you follow, will lead you to resolve the issue.

For example, I wanna lose weight. In order to do it, I need to eat less, work out more, visit a specialised doctor, follow a diet, stay hydrated, and fix my sleeping schedule. That's a list of all the things that could help me fix my problem. And now I know what I need to do.

Test your strategy

Now you have your strategy. Maybe it's good or maybe it's not. You need to test it out. And that's what you gonna do, spend the next days working on it and see if it works or not. Bear in mind, that you are already in a better place than before.

There are 2 scenarios now.

Your plan worked out and you've successfully resolved your problem. Congratulations, you solved your problem!

Your plan didn't work out as expected and you still face the same issue. If that's the case, get back to the room and figure out another solution. The good news is that now you also have a new piece of information: The method you used in the first place isn't working.

Let's say you want to fix your relationship with your partner. You followed all the steps, made the list and created a strategy and it didn't work out. You probably tried to be sweeter with them but that wasn't good enough. Now you know that that's probably not the way and you might also need to improvise, try something new, maybe try to be transparent with them, follow their lead, or show them more respect.

You don't know if it's going to work or not, but if you don't try you'll never know.

Dealing with your problems and facing them directly isn't easy. It requires a lot of emotional capacity, strength and sometimes time. One step at a time and I'm sure that you'll escape all your problems as you develop this mentality.

Never Settle

Twitter Growth: Hack Twitter’s new algorithm

Twitter’s been changing its algorithm for a long time. We all are experiencing lower engagement, fewer likes, and fewer replies even if our content is on point. This can be discouraging for many creators, especially emerging ones.

If you feel like that or you experience the same issue, today’s your lucky day.

Many other creators will tell you that you should need to focus on consistency, stick to your content or even try other platforms. These are all valid tips, but they won't help you reach a larger audience at the moment. I'm not telling you not to do all that but you should also use news & trends for your benefit.

I realized quickly that people using trends and hot topics to write threads about is really paying off. And that's pretty easy to do too. All you need to do is to be quick and provide your greatest insight. Answer the questions you'd ask after hearing the news.

For example, this week, everyone was talking about Bitcoin NFTs. At first, you might ask yourself, is that even possible? or is this an opportunity to make a buck? and if so, which projects should I keep my eyes on? Gather all these questions and search online for answers. Once you have the answers, write a thread with a powerful hook, and boom that's it, a viral thread.

I did exactly that 3 days ago and got over 1,500 likes

NFT News Report

Bitcoin NFTs

Bitcoin NFTs are going viral. Over the last few days, there have been numerous sales of bitcoin ordinals including ordinal punks sales for more than 10 BTC, over 50,000 inscriptions and a lot of controversies. But wait a minute. Bitcoin NFTs? Is that even possible? And what on earth are inscriptions and ordinals?

Bitcoin NFTs are possible because of ordinals. The ordinals protocol was launched in January and it enables users to explore, transfer, and receive individual satoshis, which may include unique inscribed data such as video, text and image. Using ordinal’s ability to identify and tag individual satoshis, the protocol then allows users to connect that satoshi to a digital file and broadcast it to the bitcoin blockchain. You can find more information on my thread about bitcoin NFTs I posted earlier this week.

There's a huge debate that's going on right now. Many people support this narrative while others are pissed because of the high fees and the “unethical” as it’s characterized as a false narrative. As you can imagine, this sort of activity has increased the network fees and. The truth is that Bitcoin is digital gold. To me, all this controversy feels like another classic push of a radical narrative to create fake hype. There are some opportunities to make money but be careful.

Blur Airdrop in 2 days

The airdrop everyone was waiting for is coming in 2 days (14 February). If you follow closely the NFT space you’ll have encountered the blur marketplace as it’s the only marketplace that’s giving OpenSea some competition.

The reward mechanism is working like this: “The higher the bids and the larger the volume of the bids you place on Blur, the more bidding points you earn for the airdrop”. Due to this airdrop, whales with lots of funds are placing bids on the biggest collections and are really close to the floor in order to farm more rewards for this airdrop.

This created an artificial incline in floor prices across various projects already and it’s expected that these bids are going to stop after the airdrop and that with its turn it will affect the floor prices too.

Make sure you claim this airdrop as soon as possible, and be prepared for price movement.
